JR Bus Kanto announced back in December 2020 their plan to join forces with Keisei Bus for a new Narita Airport service. The new service, called Airport Bus TYO-NRT, came into operation on February 1st. It had replaced both The Access Narita (JR Bus Kanto) and Tokyo Shuttle (Keisei Bus Group) that ran between Narita International Airport and Tokyo, both competitors versus JR East’s Narita Express (NEX).
And there’s a price hike next month. By March 1st, the fare will become 1300 yen for adults and 650 yen for kids. However, with one suitcase per passenger included in the fare, it is still a reasonable price. For comparison, the NEX Round Trip Ticket from JR East will cost you 4070 yen for adults and 2030 yen for children. If you don’t mind the occasional traffics jams (maybe not so much after the pandemic?), this new service is worth considering, especially if you are not going to use your JR pass on the first or last day in Tokyo.
